Volunteer Service Opportunities

Your service is essential to the life of the church. From helping in the office to making coffee on Sunday there are a number of opportunities on campus if you are looking for a way to support and serve the ministry of the church.

Shirlington Employment and Education Center (SEEC)

Rock Spring has a strong and growing relationship with the Shirlington Employment and Education Center, known as SEEC, in South Arlington.

Meals on Wheels

Working in teams of two, Rock Springers are responsible for five MOW routes on the first and third Fridays of each month.

Mission Projects

Our Mission Projects

Liturgists

For each service, lay members serve as liturgists who read the call to worship, the biblical texts, and call the ushers forward to collect the offering.

Greeters

Greeters volunteer to greet all who enter our worship services and provide a welcoming environment.

Hospitality

Hospitality volunteers provide punch, coffee, and other treats following worship services each Sunday.

Rock Spring Ambassadors

The Ambassadors volunteer in the church office answering phones, greeting guests, and helping with clerical duties.

Ushers

Ushers provide a warm welcome, pass out bulletins, help people find seats, and help collect the offering every Sunday.

Caring Ministry

For older adults and others who may be confined to their homes, nursing homes, or have other ongoing needs, we have a trained Caring Ministry which will be glad to arrange for regular visits.

Thursday Night Supper

Bring a dish to share any Thursday evening between September and June when Rock Springers meet at 6:30 p.m. for an informal potluck in Carpenter Hall.

"All Hands on Deck"

"All Hands On Deck" are special events at Rock Spring including worship and a community-wide service project.
