Rock Spring’s positivity, progressive mentality, and commitment to social and eco justice appealed to my desire to give back for the privileges I’ve been afforded.

Although originally from Wisconsin, I grew up in Maryland until my dad’s work moved my family overseas to Rome, Italy. After adjusting to the culture shock, I opted to stay in Rome after high school to earn a BA in English Literature from John Cabot University (with a study abroad year at University of Wisconsin-Madison).

My post-university adventures included captioning phone calls for the deaf and hard of hearing, waitressing high-intensity brunches, and working with a nonprofit specializing in global access to quality health care for children with congenital heart defects. More recently, I was a freelance writer and editor for a variety of projects and clients, including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

I love to chat with people whenever and wherever I’m waiting in a line, but I also revel in quiet spaces outside. My husband and I welcomed our daughter in 2020.
