Rock Spring Concerts

Rock Spring has a robust music program with a variety of concerts and recitals throughout the year that are designed for everyone from people who have appreciated music their entire lives to children who are hearing a variety of new instruments for the first time. Our Recital Series benefit concerts are free; donations are gratefully accepted to support the Recital Series and to support a designated partner organization.

Music at Rock Spring Throughout the Year

Occasionally in worship we will have a “Sermon in Song” service featuring our Sanctuary Choir and friends, who perform works such as J.S. Bach Cantata #4, Bach’s Magnificat, or Handel’s Messiah.

Our recital series, which is held on a few Sunday afternoons throughout the year, has featured performers such as Pershing’s Own, Tim Whalen Trio, IBIS, Howard University Gospel Choir, and Swing Dixie.

“Rock Spring provides an opportunity for the community to enjoy music performed in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Friends and neighbors happily attend to hear harpists, singers, and instrumental ensembles with their lovely sounds.”

~Daena Kluegel

We also have occasional children’s recitals held on Saturday mornings that feature musicians who interact with the audience. Children are invited to not only hear new music, but touch the instruments and actively engage with the music being performed.

“The children’s concerts are a great way to expose my kids to a variety of music. High quality music in a place they know and love; what could be better?”

~ Stephanie Arnold Pang
