Meet at Langston Community Center (5722 Langston Blvd, Arlington)

Sunday, February 13, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  All Youth of Rock Spring are invited to a special combined YoRS to learn more about the history of racism in Arlington. We will gather in the parking lot behind the Langston Community Center for a walking tour of the historic Halls Hill neighborhood, founded in 1866 by people freed from enslavement. While institutional racism and strong Jim Crow discrimination laws burdened the residents, the community developed its own organizations, businesses, and institutions to not only survive, but thrive.
