At its August meeting, Council reviewed Rock Spring’s masking policy, and has eliminated the alternate week mandatory masking policy. The decision was driven by the actions of the congregation: there was no difference in attendance on “masked” versus “unmasked” Sundays, the dedicated masking area has consistently been virtually empty, and, importantly, we did not see individual congregants join us on masked Sundays while staying home at other times. We urge all Rock Springers to continue to take the voluntary steps we are already seeing: wear a mask at any time if that is more comfortable for you; if you are unwell or have been exposed, stay home and join us online; and, respect and support the choices of others. We will, of course, revisit the policy again if public health concerns warrant.
