Faith and Democracy

The election did not end the church’s need to be involved in Justice issues. It’s time to take stock, regroup, and imagine together how we organize as UCC churches for 2021 and beyond. The following opportunities are available for all people of conscience who are ready to organize together for justice.

Potomac Association Justice & Witness Retreat, December 4-5: the evening of December 4 will be used to get to know church members involved in justice issues throughout the Potomac Association. On the morning of December 5, we will learn about issues of interest to communities of faith that will be considered in the 2021 VA General Assembly. Register for Friday, December 4 and/or for Saturday, December 5.

Advent Faith-based Training for Community Organizing will be off ered by the United Church of Christ along with the National Council of Churches. During the four Sundays of Advent, the training will explore what the world will look like when justice comes, and how do we prepare for its arrival. Four nationally recognized organizers and trainers, along with theological refle ctors will help us examine these questions. For more information on the series, click here. Rock Spring has a group registration so if you want to participate in any of the sessions, please contact Leslie Atkins at lpatkins2@aol.com to get the Zoom link.
