Advent Stable Offerings

November 21, 2021

Rock Spring is taking the Advent journey to the manger by inviting you to bring an offering each week for our neighbors. This year’s “stable offerings” will replace the Christmas tree tags from years past. We will contribute items for babies, seniors, refugees/immigrants, those experiencing hunger, and those seeking a home. Offerings can be brought on Sundays before noon and put in the stable near the main office or dropped off at the church office 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Week 1: November 28: Twin size sheets, blankets, or comforters for PathForward (formerly ASPAN).

Week 2: December 5: New socks and donations of $50 to buy boots for SEEC (Shirlington Education and Employment Center) workers. You can give online here by choosing “Give to SEEC Boots.”

Week 3: December 12: Diapers for refugee families, especially in sizes 4, 5, and 6.

Week 4: December 19: Cozy box items for residents of Culpepper Garden — cans of chicken noodle soup, apple cider, hot chocolate, slipper socks, gloves, or tea.

Christmas Eve: Cooking oil for AFAC, the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
