The High School youth group, YoRS (Youth of Rock Spring), is an intentional safe space where each youth is affirmed, encouraged, and celebrated for exactly who they are. Youth help design and lead the program, choosing topics and service projects. We relate faith to daily life, and have recently addressed topics including anxiety and mental health, racism, and the role of faith in democracy. All youth grades 9-12 are welcome.
High School YoRS often serve together as well, participating in stream cleanups, making bagged meals for the homeless, and joining the rest of the congregation for All Hands on Deck events. We give back to the church cooking meals for congregational events, and offering activities for younger children such as Kids Day Out and an annual Haunted House.
