What if all the Palestinians in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank simply disappeared one day? POOF! What would happen next? How would Israelis react? Those are the questions posed in Palestinian author Ibtisam Azem’s new and powerfully imaginative novel, The Book of Disappearance. Join us in reading this intriguing book as part of Rock Spring’s Book Club.

Our discussion will join dozens of other groups reading this book as part of the Librarians and Archivists with Palestine One Book, Many Communities initiative. (Check out these librarians - they do amazing things! https://librarianswithpalestine.org) The book is a quick read and is readily available at independent bookstores online and on Amazon.

Gail Burnaford will be facilitating the discussion. If you email her at gailburnaford@gmail.com, she can send you more information and some things to think about prior to the discussion. No better time than the present to read!

(Note: The previously scheduled discussion of Kerry Egan’s On Living is moving to Wednesday, June 24, at 2:00 p.m. Stay tuned for more information.)
