Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are essential to the life of the church. From helping in the office to making coffee on Sunday there are a number of opportunities on campus if you are looking for a way to support the ministry of the church.

Rock Spring has a strong and growing relationship with the Shirlington Employment and Education Center, known as SEEC, in South Arlington.

Working in teams of two, Rock Springers are responsible for five MOW routes on the first and third Fridays of each month.

The Green Team!

Part of Rock Spring's commitment to a more just and healthy environment is our concern for and stewardship of the world God has made.

Every month with a fifth Sunday is a special event at Rock Spring including worship and a community wide service project.

Greeters volunteer to greet all who enter our worship services providing a welcome environment.

Hospitality volunteers provide punch, coffee, and other treats following worship services each Sunday.

The Ambassadors volunteer in the church office answering phones, greeting guests, and helping with clerical duties.

Ushers provide a warm welcome, pass out bulletins, help people find seats, and help collect the offering every Sunday.

The reality is that I too have

Authored your pain.

I laid a blank piece of paper down

When you needed me to respond.

I chose the shortcut.

I learned complicity,

Learned to move quietly in my privilege,

Learned to let the doors open for me

Before walked inside.

I inherited fear

And did not unlearn it.

In fight or flight, I flew.

I confess all this.

And I commit to hearing

The raw stories,

To letting your vulnerability

Chafe me.
