About the Search Committee

The Council appointed the Search Committee at its April 27, 2009 meeting and members were commissioned in worship on Sunday, May 31. The Search Committee is continuing the work begun by the Interim Team. Specifically, the Search Committee has been appointed to lead the search for our next Senior Pastor. Tasks include:

• Crafting the Local Church Profile, including soliciting congregational and staff input. The document is intended to provide an honest and complete profile of the church that represents, to the best of our abilities, the common vision and ideas of the entire congregation.
• Posting the Profile on www.ucc.org
• Screening and selecting potential candidates
• Interviewing candidates
• Recommending a final candidate for Congregational approval

The members are:

John Roman (Chair)*     Jeanne Barnett      Laura Hooper
Joanne Kelly                Dick Metzger         John Morland
Laurie Rodgers*            Wade Sharp          Rebecca Womeldorf
*Also served on Interim Team

Rev. Dr. John Deckenback, Central Atlantic Conference Minister, is the Advisor to Rock Spring’s Search Committee throughout the search-and-call process. He meets with the Search Committee on a regular basis to assist the Committee in organizing and planning the tasks between now and the welcoming of a new Senior Pastor to Rock Spring Church.
