Rock Spring Members Only Access Privacy Policy

Rock Spring Congregational United Church of Christ (Rock Spring)recognizes that your privacy is very important to you and that you have a right to control your personal information. We acknowledge that when you provide personal information about yourself to another party it is an act of trust. In response, Rock Spring takes the process of upholding an individual's privacy very seriously. The following information pertains to this web site as well as to all of our print materials.

Outside Links

This website contains links to sites which are not maintained by or under the control of Rock Spring. Technical problems with outside links, other than a link that has been moved or changed, should be reported to the entity that maintains the site, not to Rock Spring. If you feel that the content of an outside link is inappropriate or to report a link that has moved or changed, please email the church office at info@rockspringucc.org.

Use by Children

If you are under 13, be sure to obtain your parent's or guardian's permission before you send any personal information (for example, your name, address, e-mail address, etc.) to us or anyone else over the Internet. We encourage parents to get involved with their children's online usage and to be aware of the activities in which they are participating.

Use of Photos

We believe that the use of images of church activities and events is a valuable tool in creating an attractive, accurate and relevant on-line representation of Rock Spring and its activities. Therefore, we occasionally include photographs taken by members of church activities on our website. In order to protect the privacy of Rock Spring members and friends, we generally do not provide personal identification information along with photographs. When parents register their children with our Sunday School program we request permission to use their children’s image (without their names) on our web site and in print materials. We strictly abide by the preferences indicated by our parents.

Identification with photos will only be included with the permission of the person or parent of the person being photographed. If you see a photograph of yourself or your child that you prefer not to be included on the site, or if you would like to insure that no photo of your child is used on the site, feel free to contact Rev. Mark Suriano. We'll make the necessary arrangements to comply with your request. All copyrights remain with the original photographer. Effort is made to include credit to the photographer if known.

Use of Names

Occasionally the names of members and friends are mentioned on the website, particularly in articles from the Rock Spring News. We will create and provide domain name (e.g. @rockspringucc.org) email forwarders for both staff and volunteers to use for contact information on this website. Email forwarders simultaneously provide a layer of privacy and reduce spam.

Contact people for our church-related events and activities, who wish to have their phone numbers and personal email addresses published, must specifically request this by emailing info@rockspringucc.org.

Church employees’ church phone numbers, church addresses and church email addresses will be published on the website. No minors shall be identified by full name, or even by first name only, in photos posted on this website.

To Be Collected: Sunday, June 4

by Laura Martin

The reality is that I too have

Authored your pain.

I laid a blank piece of paper down

When you needed me to respond.

I chose the shortcut.

I learned complicity,

Learned to move quietly in my privilege,

Learned to let the doors open for me

Before walked inside.

I inherited fear

And did not unlearn it.

In fight or flight, I flew.

I confess all this.

And I commit to hearing

The raw stories,

To letting your vulnerability

Chafe me.
