Arlington Interfaith Council
The Arlington Interfaith Council is comprised of 48 religious congregations working together in a joint, practical effort to meet urgent and ongoing human needs in the Arlington community. The mission of the Arlington Interfaith Council is to provide a tangible religious witness in the community through promotion of understanding and cooperation among member congregations and to develop and support programs to alleviate suffering and promote justice for residents of Arlington. A substantial portion of the AIC budget is earmarked for Helping Hands programs, including: Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless (AACH), Arlington Food Assistance Center, Arlington Street People’s Assistance Network, Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry, the Arlington Free Clinic, and more.

UCMNV’s mission is to share God’s love with all the campuses of Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University; to encourage students in their intellectual and spiritual journey; to cultivate service to others as a way of life; to affirm the dignity of all people; to foster reconciliation; to nourish multicultural experiences; to advocate for peace with justice; and to witness to the unity of the human family.

Witness for Peace
Clergy and lay people concerned about U.S. aggression in Central America founded Witness for Peace in 1983. Over the years, Witness for Peace has worked in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Haiti, Cuba, and in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas to advocate for peace, justice and sustainable economies by changing U.S. policy and corporate practices that contribute to poverty and oppression in Latin American and the Caribbean. Witness for Peace, a politically independent grassroots organization, is a network of 15,000 activists, which moves people to action through nonviolent action, education and mobilization of its grassroots base.
