Everyone is Welcome Here

What is the UCC?

The United Church of Christ is a Progressive Christian denomination native to North America.  Formed in 1957, the UCC represents the union of the Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Congregational Christian Churches.

This heritage formed the philosophy of “freedom within covenant,” or the freedom of each local congregation to govern itself based on UCC understandings of Christian faith. Freedom within convenant also affects us on a personal level. We encourage everyone to listen for God’s voice and continue their faith journey through Bible study, Christian Education, formal and informal discussions, counseling and personal inquiry. Questions of faith are always welcome.

Please visit the About Us section of our web site or click here to visit the “What is the UCC?” page on the United Church of Christ  website to learn more about who we are and what we believe.

Rock Spring is a local church within the Potomac Association of the United Church of Christ and the Central Atlantic Conference-United Church of Christ.
