Everyone is Welcome Here

2/10/2010–Winter Weather Check-in with the Rock Spring Family

2/10/2010, 9:00 p.m.

With the addition of at least another foot of snow overnight and today, our region continues to shovel out from this week’s winter sotrm (We actually had an official blizzard today!).  Reports from around the church are coming in, and road conditions remain poor.

The Church Office will remain closed on Thursday, 2/11. All meetings and programs cancelled.  This includes all choir practices and Thursday Night Supper.  We are hoping to be able to have regular office hours on Friday.  Please check the church website and our Facebook page for the latest information.

If you do come to the church campus, please exercise Good Snow Etiquette: If you find a single parking space carved out of the icy mound alongside the curb and in front of a house, assume that one of our neighbors spent hours getting that parking space cleared out. Please, do not park there; the neighbor is likely going to return- likely before we get finished-and will want his/her space available.
Please feel free to use any open spaces in the two small lots on the church property: next to the bus at Neighborhood House, and by the handicapped entrance to the Sanctuary.

Please know that we are working on preparations for Sunday.  Parking remains the largest issue, and several avenues are being investigated.  Carpooling with your church friends would be a good plan!  Please look for more information in a future update email.

Today's reflection by Tony Robinson: Do you ever argue with God? Do you ever call on God to be God? Is that even okay? Can we do that? All sorts of people in the Bible argue with God, including Abraham, Moses and Jeremiah, to name a few. […]

Today's reflection by Ron Buford: Colin Powell once said he was proud of being called a "reluctant warrior." Powell is typical among warriors who actually risked their own lives to save others and who can also never erase the brain-searing memories of horrific death and human carnage--of friends and enemies, comrades and combatants, all believ […]
