Help plan a worship service for peace – observe Japanese tea ceremony

The worship service on August 9 will focus on world peace. This date was chosen in part in remembrance of all those who were affected by the events in Hiroshima (August 6, 1945) and Nagasaki (August 9, 1945).

The worship service will include a traditional Japanese tea ceremony in which a symbolic bowl of tea will be dedicated as a prayer for peace.

A planning meeting for the service will take place on Tuesday, June 23 at 7:30 pm in the Saegmuller Room, in which Takako Dickinson will demonstrate, a tea ceremony.

If you would like to help prepare for the worship service, please join the planning meeting. For any questions or indicating your interest, please email socialaction@rockspringucc.org or speak to Takako.

Unfortunately, the good feeling is a lot like bubble gum. The sweet goes out after a few chews. What is your gift? Is the emphasis on "your?" Or "gift?" […]
